They're a species of Paracheirodon, probably the golden form of the Neon
tetra P innesi.
Not an easy fish to breed.

They look like Neon Tetras...faded...or specially bred to be less bright
Not known to be easy to breed.....hardy fish though

What these really look like is regular Neons which have
just had the light turned on after being kept in darkness--
they always look washed out for a couple of minutes.
My other guess would be some sort of undescribed
leucistic mutation. Either way, I agree with Sue--
it is some sort of Neon.

Paracheirodon certainly, and as I haven't heard of a morph on neon tetras
with just blue left and no red (no-blue color morphs exist, they are ugly),
I think that these fish are Paracheirodon simulans aka blue neon tetra aka
green neon tetra. Smaller and more fragile than neons or cardinals,
probably hard to breed (unlike neons) because they are very fussy with
right type of water, like cardinals.

I have a 2 year old mixed community tank. There is a small school of 4
Neons. About 2 weeks ago a mate of mine was kind enough to give me a large
jar FULL of java moss. I put enough in my tank so that one of the corners
looks like a giant green furball has taken over! But ever since then it has
sparked the neons into spawning. They love swimmimg in and around the java
moss. I have observed a pair of them spawning twice inside the moss over the
last 2 weeks. Unfortunately my moonlight Gouramis are having a great caviaar
snack, maybe I'll be lucky and some will make it :)
