Hi All:

No question this time:

A few months ago I started out in the wonderful world of aquaria with
many poor results
as I'm sure alot of you have experienced when you first started out. I was
way to anxious to get things up and running and the results were far from
nice.

I'm sure most of you would have termed it the aquarium of death, so it
took a step back for alittle while and read some books and finally found
this news group.

In short now I'm am pleased to say that with a little time and elbow
grease I have an absolutely astounding aquarium ( in my mind anyways ;) ),
my fish are growing, their colors and patterns are beautiful and I am truly
enjoying every moment of this hobby.

So I would just like to say thank you to all of you who responded to my
questions and had the patience to teach me the in's and out's.

Keep Up The Good Work ;)

I have kept fish (SERIOUSLY kept fish) for close to 10 years, and the first
5 I really had no idea what I was doing. In the last 4-5 years, I have
learned more about this hobby from the people in this group than I ever
thought possible. I echo your sentiments.

of my tank, to get fin rot out of my tank and to breeding. Thanks to

We're just about into our first year into this hobby. Thanks mostly to this
group, and most memorably Jim Brown (Yes I know, I need a bigger tank!),
we're now just starting into breeding. We've got Cichlids that don't have
common names, scientific names might as well be chinese. Everywhere you look
there's a tank.Umpteen different breeds of cories and loaches, just amazing
compared to when we first started.

You want to know how this started?

A year ago, I told my fiance I'd like a couple fish in a small tank. She
hated fish.
I got a 5g tank, and 4 tiger barbs. That's where it started. She discovered
fish were cool. Felt sorry for them in the small 5g, got them a 30g. Of
course, we all know what happens after that, qt tanks that are no longer qt,
90g tanks that just appear, etc.
