View Full Version : Lighting for a 12gal Eclipse Tank

Has anyone found blue bulbs that would fit this tank or come up with a
way to change the fixture so that blue lighting can be used in them?
My LFS tried to order an Azu Blue Light (13w) with the proper
connector, but their supplier said they don't make them "yet". I'm
told Eclipse used to have them, but can't find any either. Any
thoughts?
Thanks.

What sort of connector does it use?? is it a screw-in connector? pins? if
so, how many pins?

I'll do my best:
It is a pin connector, two-prong, about 5" in length, one ballast that
goes out and loops back tothe base. There are many products out there
which are similar. In fact the LFS sold me a 7w lamp that by all
accounts match perfectly except for one thing.
At the base of the bulp, there are typically raised guides to help the
bulb slide into the fixture. On traditional bulbs, there is a single
guide on each side of the center of the base. On this bulb for the
Eclipse system, the middle is a groove, flanked on each side by raised
guides.

Well, I've done some looking, and I can't find any bulbs that seem like what
you describe. I tried calling marineland customer service, and they were
worse than useless. Everytime their "you're on hold" recording came on, my
wait time had doubled.
Sorry, wish I coulda been more help.
