Hi,
I recently purchased a 402 Hagen Powerhead with quick filter attachment for
a recently acquired 55 gallon tank.. I also am running a Filstar XP3. The
guy at the fish store convinced me to get the 402 (270gph) instead of the
802 (400gph). I'm wondering if I made a mistake? I was afraid that the 802
would be too powerful. I installed the 402 and I am using the power nozzle
on my filter. Both devices are on one end of the tank. On the other end of
the tank I can see water movement. Should I sell my 402 and get an 802 or
keep what I have or even add a second powerhead? Is too much turbulence bad
for a fish-planted tank?
I plan on planting several plants and wanted to know if I should run an air
pump at night when the plants need oxygen? Is it a good idea to let it run
all the time? Or is it best not to run one at all. I want to create a
happy medium for plants and fish in my tank.
Thanks
