background question / color

[Fishin Technician]

I am considering painting my new 54 gallon corner/bowed tanks rear glass,
and my question is any recommendations on colors, including black. Someone
told me certain colors have a soothing effect on fish , such as green due to
it's being common in most environments. I appreciate any input on this
subject.

I have used black, light blue and green, and never noted any behavioral
differences in the fish. I, however, prefer the black. My 20g planted has a
black back, black sub, with vivid green plants. Breathtaking. It's my
favorite tank.

Be sure to use an oil-based enamel, don't get any inside, don't paint it
when the tank is full, and let it dry for several days before filling.
