Which is pretty unremarkable, as people are buying filters all the time,
however, this filter might not come out of it's box for a year, or until
I need it (if I need it). It's an Emperor 400, and for $59.99 cdn
(marked down for liquidation), I just couldn't resist. There is
something to be said about someone who buys aquarium stuff on the chance
they will need it someday, but it's probably not overly complimentary ;~)

Don't worry about it. I'm buying some things to put aside as well. New
heater, lots of heavily discounted driftwood, etc.

I think even if I won some kind of "mega millions" lotto - I would still
positively LOVE a deal. Nothing like knowing or appreciating the value of
something and being able to get it (legally) for significantly less. Even
if you could find a similar price from ebay+shipping - it wouldn't be as
good a deal because of the recourse-factor which would be valuable to have
in the event you get it home, plug it in and it's absolutely dead, gone,
over - you have a store to return yours to without the hassle of
return-mail, feedback, 2-week resolution, yada, yada...

Good find. AND - no better, cheaper insurance to have against your current
filters continuing to hum along perfectly.
