View Full Version : Baby Panda Corys

I picked up three baby Panda Corys the other day... they are between
1/2 and 3/4 inches at this point.
I found an older article from 2001 about a different species of cory
that says they can take up to two years to reach fully grown.
Anyone have experience with raising Pandas? We have already had to
move the Serpae Tetras as they were too aggressive with the little
guys, and were nipping the babies
TIA.

Mike,
Thanks... good info there. About 100 days to reach an inch.... I've
heard that growth rate slows down after a while... can you confirm?
Based on the chart it looks like that it would take about 200 days to
reach full size, asssuming growth rate doesn't change..
Thanks!

I've raised baby panda cories. I have one right now that's about 1.5
months old and almost ready to leave the net he's in. He's about 1/2 an
inch long. The babies I had before grow very fast at first (at least
compared to the schooling fish) but then slower. I had too many to say
how long before they were fully grown but they were able to participate in
spawning by a year in age or so. They continue to grow a little bit for
another year so the 2 years for full size may be right.

Yup, that's about right, but the growth will get slower and slower as
the fish approach full size.
