Hi All,

I have 4 small (3cm) SAEs undergoing quarantine; I'm not adding fish
food but I added two coconut shells completely covered with filamentous
algae to the quarantine tank;

during the first week I could see lots of poop so I assumed they were in
fact eating the filamentous algae; but today, after 2 more days, I
noticed there is very little poop around :-((

could it be that they are *not* eating the algae?
that the poop I saw was from the food they ate at the LFS?

I intend to move them into the main tank in 3 days;
should I add some fish food to the quarantine tank just to be sure they
will not starve?

TIA!

Give them some squash (zuccini) to eat, they love it!

oh, I forgot to mention: I was told at the LFS that they would stop
eating algae if they have something better (say: zuccini) to eat; that's
why I'm using the quarantine to let them know they are supposed to eat
algae!
