I finally got myself a pleco, a gold pleco at that, he's about 2 inches
long. problem is, he is sitting in the half inch gap between the back wall
of my tank and the fake background that I have stuck on there. It doesn't
come off. he got in through a tiny little hole. I have tried tapping the
glass with a torch to try to herd him down to the hole and out, but he just
takes off in any direction. I've got a bright light shining onto the
background so it ceases to be a nice dark little spot. hopefully he will
come out when he is ready? when he gets hungary?

the bigger problem I have is that I have a small crawfish stuck in there
too, I've seen him try to get out but he is too uncoordinated. THink I will
have to fashion some kind of hook to get him out, cos if he dies in there it
will foul the whole tank..

paul.

who is kicking himself for not fixing up that hole.

Your background is inside the tank? The ones I have seen are attached
to the outside of the back.

Why not pull the background off and start over?

It's not always that easy with textured backgrounds - which do go on the
inside of the tank and can be pretty firmly fixed in.

Someone posted a link to this a while ago:

Now that's a background that made me drool! I very much intend to try this
one day.
