Thanks. The stud wall is interesting. That would probably work for me
and be a lot easier than cement block. I forgot to mention, I am in
Chicago so I do have to contend with freezing ground (though I heat my
pond in the winter to keep it from feezing). I think I could place the
stone blocks (like pavers) in front of the wood as the wood doesn't
really fit the look of my yard.

I am in Milwaukee and stuffed foam insulation in the walls cause I heat my pond too.
yes, facing the stud wall with block to match the landscape would work. in fact, you
can screw metal strips to the wood and use that to key the blocks if you use mortar
to build the wall. Ingrid

Sean, great pictures, though I wish they were all as big or bigger than
those on page 5. Though I chuckled at the 1st one, on Pg. 5, where you got
