I've only been at this for 3 months and I've just moved up to a 29g tank
from a ten. I transferred everything over, including the gravel. I've got
lots of plants which are doing well. I also have 1 marbeled hatchet, 6
danios, 5 ghost shrimp, 1 adult male platy & 9 juveniles.

I had 4 otos that seemed to be doing well then they all died within a week
but showed no obvious signs of illness. They didn't seem interested in
veggies or algae wafers but had fat bellies until the day before they died.
My water parameters have been stable (hard, somewhat alkaline) & I feed
twice a day.

So I have two questions: Will the new tank have to go thru a complete
recycling? Do you have any suggestions as to what I might add to my tank. I
was thinking of 2 dwarf gouramis and/or more marbeled hatchets but think I
should have an algae eater too. I have no LFS. There's a Pet Warehouse an
hour from me but the staff don't seem to be knowledgeable. I'd appreciate
any suggestions. TIA
