Hello

I just want to check that i have enough water flow in my tank based upon the
figures below, and if not what to do about it. At the moment (moved house
and no corals yet so FO tank) i just need to eradicate dead zones etc.

I have a 60inch wide x 18 inch deep x 30 inch high tank (no sump as yet).
Its filled up to 26 inches with water and has about 1 inch of sand at the
bottom. Im estimating that it contains about 30% of live rock. Also those
are external measurements and thus if i take the water volume at 59x17x25
inches i get a volume of 411 litres. Minus the 30% live rock volume thats
288 litres.

If we are to circulate at whole tank at 8-12 (found on internet) times an
hour i would need pumps between 2300-3460 l/h

All i have circulation wise is 2x Tunze 2002 centrifugal pumps (the classic
ones that pop out the top of the tank) which displace 2400 l/h (634
USgal/h). These are on a controller that switches each one on/off from 100%
to 30% power and from one end of the tank to the other over a 6 hour period.

I will be shortly refitting my Eheim 1060 which works at 2280 l/h as a
recirculation pump on my sump.

Does this seem enough to you all?

Thanks for your time

Warren
