Hiya,
When you say a fluval, I presume from the size of your tank it's
internal? Is the area which had the stain on top under or above
the water level?
Looking at my 4ft tank, which has an internal fluval filter, I
get all kinds of sludge build up, usually on the hood, from
condensation. I get green drippy sludge along edges on the hood
and where the hood and tank meet. I sometimes find brownish
sludge, if there was a little fish food that got caught and then
got wet from condensation and decomposed into a slimy mess.
Do you think these could be what you're seeing? Either way, I
just get a J-Cloth and give it a good wipe down on a regular
basis - it's not a problem!
Hope that helps.
