Hey good group,

Thanks again for the advice.

I put driftwood in my tank, which he has clearly been mauling. I've
also been feeding him a algae tablet ever second day (I drop it right in
front of his cave). If I don't get an algae bloom I may increase it to
once a day if necessary. I've also given him some cucumber on occasion.

He is more active and less nocturnal and I have the pleasure of watching
him a lot more. Although it is better if just the tank light is on and
I try not to get too close to the tank - he is shy.

Anyway, I believe he is much healthier now and quite a beauty- but It
also probably means he'll outgrow the tank by the end of the year.

But I'm glad he is a happy camper. Name: "Little Godzilla".

Cheers,

TS

I like to use algae tablets because I am better able to detect if they
have been completely eaten. I always drop them in the same location
each night. As long as your tablets and other offerings are being
eaten, I wouldn't worry too much about an algae bloom. Glad to hear
he's doing so well.

i have a (i think)gibbiceps, he is about 18" long and very friendly, he
will let me pet him if he is the mood and love to take frozen bloodworm
from my hand. he's active just about all of the time and if i make the
bloodworm dissolve in some tank water and let it float on the surface he
loves to feed from the surface. one of the best fish i have ever owned.

we have bought tanks with his growth in mind, i would say depth is the
first consideration then length

Thanks for the update! I'm glad to hear he's doing well and the name
sure fits a Gibbie. When he's grown are you going to shorten it to
"Godzilla"? ;-)
