Hi,

I have noticed that a couple of my malawi cichlids have concave bellies -
they seem to be eating OK - could they have worms/paracites or is there some
other possible reason? If it is an infestation how should onbe treat it?

Thanks,

Sky

Sorry about that - grandson hit the post button.
The second reason is a disease called Skinny Disease - bacterial, fish
eat but look sucked in at gill plates, head looks large compared to
body and body is skinny. Treatment - 200mg erythromycin per 100 grams
of food - feed 10 days...
When adding any medication to food, if you first disolve the med. in a
little shrimp or fish oil, then mix it in with their food, the meds.
will stay on the food and will not be diluted by the water - plus, the
fish will be more likely to eat the 'medicated
food'....................... Frank
