Has anyone used phos-sorb to help get rid of brown algae ( 5o gal tank)) ??
How well does it work ??

It does work well, but it's expensive. You'd be better off reducing
the phosphate by other means. A common source of excess phosphate
is excessive feeding -- unless you have high phosphates in your tap water
(unlikely), I'd start there. Do a few largish water changes to get the
phosphate levels down and don't overfeed.
You could also put in a few Otocinclus Affinis, which will make short
work of the brown algae.
Cheers,
Michi.
