White Patch on Platy

One of our Platys has developed a white patch, roughly 1/4" across, on the
top of its head above one eye.

Is this fungus, or something else?

What should I do about it?

(I have a formalin/malachite green mixture from treating for Ich, but I
suspect that I need something different this time.)

Actually, it is a 1/8" spot. I found a lot of references on the web for
Ich, but nothing much for what I am seeing. Could anyone offer advice, or
should I go to the LFS?
