A friend of mine posted this at another news group and I don't know what
to tell him. Any help will be great.

Hey Folks ,
Has anyone in here had any experiences gettin RID of leeches ? I have a
120 gal Tetra tank , planted . I'm guessing they came in on the plants ,
even tho I "bombed" the tank w/ Malachite/formalin at setup .... LFS has
suggested Jungle Parasite clear (fizzy things) but so far , I still have
the lil suckers . It did clean the bubble wand, oddly. My concern is
that Tetras can be delicate , I have 8 species , the Buenos Aires have
been spawning so I'd say they're in good shape . Here's a shot of the
tank . =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 Thanks ! P.S. I think the leeches are
erpobdella sp. ( if I spelled that right )

I am not sure because the pic he provided did not show one. He thinks
they came in on a plant and they are multiplying. Besides breaking
down the tank what other options does he have?

Heres a link to a site about leeches. It lists some natural predators,
snails eat leech eggs.

HE could try adding salt to the water. Leaches can't talk salt & it usually
kills them.

Accuracy drops as a function of prolificy (is that a new word? ;~), oops
.... dictionary says 'prolificacy'. The funny thing is, many typos get
auto-corrected (by the reader's mind) and they are only really noticed
when it's brought to their attention. Try reading the following:

Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in
waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht
the frist and lsat ltteer is at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a total
mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the
huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

NeatMx ;~)
