I have few of them in my tank. I did not have any problems with my plants, i
think they eat algae. ALso my festivum is eating the small ones.

I think this snail is what is called a Pond Snail. I always have a bunch of
them, never have hurt anything.

Yeah they won't hurt anything but they can eat your plants and they also
represent over-feeding since the correct amount of food would be eaten by
the fish before the snails got a look-in and they would therefore have no
chance to breed.

OK thanks for the info everyone. I guess I wont bother too much with
them. And I will try and not overfeed as much(hrmmm... must be why I
get green water from time to time). Oh well, I will have to cut back on
feeding my panda corys since I have always suspected that I overfed them.

I feed so the snails will have something. Not so much tho that my tank is
overrun with them. Not sure what the algae in my tank would be like without
em, and don't want to find out.
