1-Overfeed your fish
2-Never change the water
3-Use the cheapest filtration you can purchase with change found under the
couch
4-Feed the fish crab and hamburger at least 10 times a day
5-Add a drop of household ammonia weekly
6-Place the aquarium next to your Hi-Fi Stereo
7-Play Neil Young very very loud
8-Never Vacuum your gravel
9-An overcrowded aquarium is a must
10-Always taste-test the tank water from Time to Time

You forgot to add:
1- Allow your cat to fall in along with her flea collar.
2- Don't clean the filter until it comes to a near stop.
3- Toss in some salt every now and then.
4- Top off evaporation until the water turn to stone.
5- Let the kids play in the tank with their toy boats.
6- Let the dog slobber into the tank as he takes a drink.
7- Don't bother to shut off the tank light until the water is peasoup green.
8- Spray for roaches all around the tank, especially around the airpump.
9- Don't dechlorinate new water you add to the tank.
10- Place the tank in the full sun from a South facing window.

Interesting collection, can't say I have tried the taste-test!
I disagree with the filtration opinion. I quit using the bio wheel
and removed charcoal from the filter bags. Three 10 gallon tanks use
Whisper Jr., again without charcoal and I am delighted. My reasoning
is, filter media holds large bits of waste, but only until erosion
reduces the size and they slip through. The real action is by the
tanks' bacteria.
I never vacuum my gravel! My tanks have been running for over 3
years.
I have one 10 gallon sitting atop the woofer cabinet.
We sure agree with the overfeeding problem. I am always fighting
myself over one more pinch.
We also agree about the importance of water changes. I change 20%
twice weekly.
Over crowding is a bit difficult to determine. I have been over the 1
inch per gallon limit in most of my tanks. I have often wondered with
a heavy population why they tend to stay in the same part of the tank,
moving together rather than look for open spaces.
Thanks for the advice? <g>

True.

I never do and my tanks thrive. They are also heavily planted with
healthy plant growth.

I only use mechanical filtration, plus some minimal biological (don't
really need it)

Hmmm... perhaps you're not a serious poster?

Did you take it as serious? It never passed my mind, it seemed
clearly tongue in cheek. My response is definitely tongue in cheek.

I'm serious about writing a book,...But I am a slow writer,...so it may
be a while,... Right now I'm really busy trying to get all of the fish
that I have in my 11 tanks to my brother's small apartment two hours
away, because they are going to be tenting my apartment building for
termites,... So it will be a while before I can start. ~Dean.

Let us know how this works out for you. It's too bad there isn't a fish
store near you that would take them for a few days. I assume you're also
removing the tanks as well while they gas the apartments.
