Yesterday while moving fish around and such my personal favorite
fish(s) in the house did something I found quite cute seeing as my
hubby refers them to "water trapped dogs". Moving anything out of the
75g requires lowering the water level in case of stupidity on the part
of the leporinus, so drop it down to the 8" level. Water level dropped
now to the catching part, had decided to move the driftwoods, mystus
and leporinus to a different tank and the severums to a species tank to
see if a pair would form.
This is where it gets cute my wet dogs (cichlasoma coryphanoides aka
chocolate cichlids) take in mind these are fed all their treats by hand
or out of turkey baster depending on what it is and Mr Chocolatta will
swim to the surface if I stand there kiss to him and he will give fishy
kisses. Net in hand let the chaos begin, put the net down near my wet
dogs and one of them swims into the net half heartedly and lays down
literally, just lays there to be petted, reach down to gently get it
out of the net so I can get the fish I'm hunting for, so under a couple
other of my wet dogs is one of the driftwoods, gently move them aside
to catch the driftwood and wouldn't you know on of the wet dogs swims
in with it and quietly sits in the net with the driftwood, reach down
again to lift it out and leave the driftwood in LOL this went on for
all the catching and moving of residents. Think it added a 1/2hour to
the whole process.
Mr Chocolatta is funny, he "won't" eat treats for hubby period end of
subject in his book all I get from hubby is at least he could bribe the
oscars when we had them. He tells me if it was a real dog he wouldn't
be able to get near me let alone another human. When he walks in the
house he says all he has to do is look where that one in particuliar is
because he's as close as his aquarium will allow to me. Of course Mr
Chocolatta if he don't like a particuliar roomy swear he sets that fish
up to me moved LOL makes it look he's being harrassed knowing damn well
I'll move it seeing as the 75g is his tank just ask him.
Then the moving of goldies, love moving them LOL reach in and the
ones who have lived here for a while will just swim in your hand no net
needed with them. Course the reason they got moved had a pond snail
issue that was right up their alley.

Shannon P.S. Just thought I'd share a cute wet pet story.

See, no one in here really cares about your pets "Feather". They are
all wrapped up in their own little JIHAD, with Carol Gulley, aka Koi
lo, the usenet ho.........Find a web based forum and post your cute
**** there and maybe your odds of getting a decent reply will
increase..............at least you won;t get slapped in the
process...USENET is on its way out as far as aquaria groups is
concerned, all due to Carol Gulley aka Koi Lo and her sock puppets.
Me personally, I appreciate the post it adds more noise and clutter to
the groups for folks to try and wade thorugh......
