View Full Version : Getting tripped up on Betta colors

I get tripped up on color distinction between the Royal and Corn-Flower
blue. The corn-flower blue in the fish world would be Egyptian blue at
the paint store.
Having no idea what a corn flower is or looks like, I need to look for
some on my next trip to the co-op.

I hope you can get to a PetsMartstore when they get a shipment of bettas in.
They always have a lot of blues in different shades. I think it'll be kinda
costly if you order them online and have S&H charges on top of the price of
the fish.

What I haven't seen so far when there are those deep green ones I remember
from the 1960s.

Yeh, I can call my LFS and He'll fix me up. But I am considering just
buying the lot they have there at Walmart and consider my boyscout duty
done for the day..
I just hope I'm in time. and if they expire, at least they have a good
return policy.

Since the bettas are kept separate from the other fish at WW you have a good
chance of getting reasonably healthy ones. If any are in the tanks with the
other fish, you may not be lucky at all.

What you may not realize is that many will fill upt he cups with tank
water.
They add water to the cups when they come in, or instead of actually
cleaning them properly, they dump it out, and refill it with water from
any one of the tanks they choose.
