Evidently it serves Tynk who constantly harasses me here for having a
different experience with bettas than she has.

This is a free open forum and I've had bettas for many, many years and KNOW
they don't need heated and filtered tanks to do well for years. Are you
trying to censor what I post because it disagrees with someone else's
experiences? Why not tell her to STOP trolling every one of my posts? A
quick search of Google will show you I NEVER harassed her about her
experiences with bettas - she would always attack me *FIRST.*

You need to check those threads and you will see SHE attacks every post I
make where bettas are concerned. She insults me constantly with juvenile
trollish remarks. HAVE YOU CHECKED before posting this? Have you asked her
to stop this behavior? Why not join their moderated group where censorship
is welcome and anyone with different experiences than she has is banned.

i myself have my own problems with tynk's behavior, hence, i dont respond to
her the same as i usually dont respond to you. however, having seen first
hand your disctruction of the integrity of this group, and knowing tynk is a
highly respected source of information wrt bettas, the problem is not a
difference of experiences.

no. she *corrected* you first. she has offered to help, offered to lead
you to published information that will help you to understand a bit more
than you do now. and as a participant in a 'forum' she is entitled to
correct you to prevent misinformation being spread to other, less experience
people who may be confused or misled, *and* it is in the best interest of
this forum to increases the knowledge and experience of the group as a
whole by doing so.

the actions of others. your actions now are not in conjunction with a free

wrong. the moderated group censors this type of behavior as it has no place
in a discussion forum of freshwater aquaria. you were ask NOT to be a
participant in that group because of the behavior you are exhibiting now.

and insulted me for months because our experiences differ. I think it's
time to killfile her.

So I destroyed this group because I don't keep bettas in filtered heated
tanks? That I have the GALL to tell the truth to a know-it-all who is a

Childish response to what assistance? I'm well aware people have
successfully kept bettas in everything from small ivy bowls to 20g+ hated
filtered tanks. So how is she assisting me?

No she insulted me for posting my experiences with keeping bettas in
unheated unfiltered tanks for years. Why because it goes against what she
believes and claims.

suddenly all my bettas will die in their unheated and unfiltered bowls? I
already know some people keep them in H&F tanks. How is this "helping me"
to be told what I already knew for years?

What misinformation? That bettas die unless they're in F&H tanks? That's
not misinformation as they can and will live their whole lives in UH&UF
tanks or bowls as long as they are kept clean and are well fed. Do you
actually believe that breeders who keep large numbers of breeding stock have
them all in individual heated and filtered tanks? I never once saw anything
like that at a breeders house. NEVER. The heated and filtered tanks were
for breeding and fry. Most breeders were regular people and didn't have the
space or the money for such setups. I didn't see slaws of dead bettas in
UH&UF bowls and jars anywhere in their homes - did you?

Wait.... it's an argument to tell the TRUTH that bettas do not need H&F
tanks to live long healthy lives? I should just take her insults and
badgering as ... what? If someone asks about bettas I never attacked what
she said about H&F tanks - she posts what she wants to post. I post that
mine live in UH&UF bowls/tanks/jars and do very well. Where is the problem

I see..... as long as one of the NG Cabal says something it is RELIGION and
there is to be no discussion of other successful ways to keep the same fish.
How else would I get the message across if not allowed to post it here that
millions of bettas live their entire lives without H&F? There is no
guarantee the owner of a betta in a H&F tank will take better care of it
then someone who has it in a quart bowl.

to understand there is something called "optimal conditions" under which
bettas thrive. would you live longer, healthier in a confined, cold,
unkept, closet, or in a luxury suite. iow, you are saying environment has
no effect on constitution or longivity. how quaint a concept.

you're not qualified or prepared enough to forward that statement.
especially when the key was long-'er', healthi-'er' lives *in f&g tanks.
your's is a poor rendering of what someone else said that suited you better
to make false claims wrt what was actually said. again, you dont read very

Nothing that I can see. It appears you never heard what's good for the
goose is good for the gander or do we have some kind of double standard
here? The disagreement over betta keeping isn't about fish? Then what are
they? Birds?

I know what Optimal Conditions are. Few fish (or people, or dogs, or cats,
or parakeets, or hamsters) are kept under "optimal conditions". Are we to
nag, harass, badger and insult those who don't provide someone's idea of OC
for their fish? If you want OC for bettas then sink a heated and filtered
100g pool in the ground like my friend in Florida has, plant it well and
feed them nothing but live food. Make sure everyone who purchases them has
such a pool to provide OC. Now THAT in anyone's opinion is OC, how can
anyone disagree? Not a 5 or 10g tank where they do little more than they do
in a 1g tank.

All you want to do is argue, just like her............. then accuse *me* of
being off-topic.

Is this what's happening or are you simply making the entire thing up?
Instead of disecting every sentence and still not answering any of the
questions, can you just do so. You were the one who spoke of games,
behind the scene emails, etc.
