Anyone ever keep congo tetrass? If so, I'm looking for some good
informational links containing, breeding tips, food, etc. Thanks in
advance.

It's too bad that no one replied. Congos are really interesting fish (a
big tetra from Africa). All I have to offer is the usual links:

but I would have liked to have heard some first hand reports on them.
I've had a planted 60G tank with 3 sizes of them for about 1-1/2 years,
so I'm no authority. I keep them with Ruby barbs and they get along
fine. They are a little nondescript when small, but as adults they have
very long fins, a split tail, and very interesting reflective qualities
(probably would look great in any kind of sunlight or spot lighting).
Very hardy, some susceptibility to fin tip contagions, very good eaters.
I feed flake food as their staple, with frozen brine shrimp or bloodworms
about twice a week. hth

Thanks for the reply NetMax. I have four of them in a 42G with a few other
inhabitants. Not knowing anyone who has kept them I was just wondering what
the experience has been in keeping them. Very beautiful fish when adult.

Congo tetras are an asset to any fishtank. I have two males and two
females in my tank...Males split the tank into two territories...Their
colors are outstanding...like a rainbow of orange, yellow, blue and
green...Females are more like greenish sheen. I keep mine with Aus.
rainbow fish so you can imagine the colors I see everyday...It's like
a spring everyday...even in the deep of winter...Very peaceful
fish...males chase each other sometimes, but I think these are only
games or maybe exercise...heeheh...Recommend this species to
anyone...BTW...they get really big....for a tetra..
