View Full Version : Bye Steve Irwin = (

The world lost a great man September 4th.
Steve Irwin, aka The Crocodile Hunter, died from a freak accident.
He was pierced in the heart by a Sting Ray.
Not everyone liked him because of his crazy ways, but the man was like
no other when it came to animals.
He will be very missed.

Such a bizarre and freak way to go for Steve. Some experts believe no more
than 5 to 10 people have been killed by a stingray, ever, usually by
allergic reaction. It doesn't sound real.
At least the man went out living his life the way he loved, educating
people while being as close as possible to wild and often misinterpreted
animals.

Yes and I was a soldier at the time and thought world war 3 had started
but really to me it was just another bombing in a far off place
Steve tho..... it's crazy
I would compare it too Mr Hunter shooting himself but maybe 100 times more
intense.

sadder

Well you must be deaf, dumb and blind!
This is exactly how gossip spreads, gets twisted and then completely
changed.
The man NEVER dangled his son in *front* of a croc.
The baby was on THE OTHER SIDE OF HIS BODY, away from the crocodile.
By the way, it's not a "gator/croc". If you knew anything about what
you are talking about you would know that gators are in America and
Australia has salt water Crocodiles. Two species that are as different
as night and day.
*Now I in no way condone what he did, as an accident could have
happened. When I saw it the first thing I thought of was what if he had
slipped. The Croc would have thought it was just another piece of meat.
But he never dangled his son in front of the Croc.
What an idiot you are.

As much as I hate to do this.....I've ben watching the footage...and
yep....he got that baby too close to the croc.....whatever arm he was
holding the babe in he gave a full frontal to the croc in which case
sides won't mean anything....
To get back on course....I know little of the man....I watched a couple
of his shows and they entertained me but gave me little incentive to
find out about him or watch any further shows....if he did work for
conservation very good for him...the Australian gov obviously see him as
a hero.....I don't know so won't really comment....his own father does
not want the attention he is being given - don't know about his
wife....there are others who do conservation work without the
theatricals but still put on good shows.....
So I would say RIP Steve Irwin....he died as he lived - taking
risks...OK not a very great risk from previous historical evidence of
death by sting ray but a risk still the same.....maybe he can give a
nudge to "his God" to stop the insanities in the world....just hope it
is the same "god" the rest of us have.....
Good night

him.
I have no clue who hannibal is, my killfile is full of names I no longer
remember.
Show me a post about fish where ya even tried to help someone instead of
being a dick alpha?
There is also no newsgroup left to take over. The people here are the
survivors of all the crap that came before.
With time more old regulars will come back and this place will live like
before again.
Nobody has any patience left for flame wars or name changes to try cause
****.
Anyway I like to think I add a bit to this place.
If you don't think so then tough titty hey mate.
Good mood today, see peeps.
Coulda almost gotta PG rating for that post

Top bloke.
The planet is worse off without him.
Of course most people don't give a **** he's dead.
He never went out to help people.
It was all about the animals.
He was also fast and had the eye.
Yes he was a showman, thats how he fed his family and paid his 500 staff.
How he ran Australia Zoo and how he funded wildlife rescue.
He also proved how many other people are pussy.
What looks dangerous is often safe.
Anyway his kids lost their dad.
and it's all a bit heavy
I mean he really was a nice dude
Just a good sort of person.
yea the baby and croc was stupid, but thats all the ammo people really
have.
I say get the hell over it
it's his kid..... and I bet he grows up alright.
certainly not going to be a wuss thats for sure.
:-)
but yea.... fish or something

OK guys....Alpha has been posting on this NG for as long as I can
remember which is over 2 years at least.....his manner can be somewhat
abrupt and he has a tendency to flame (sorry Alpha but you know that it
is true) and he doesn't mince his words.....Swarvegorilla has been
posting around 6 months plus....IIRC he was followed by some idiot who
is long since gone....
Alpha has helped people when his area of expertise has been
necessary....Swarvegorilla also has.....
So guys, lose the egos....stop the fighting.....and that applies to
Hannibal as well.....
There is nothing going on other than a major misunderstanding.....live
with it and make up and work towards getting rafm working again....

I am sick of trying to investigate and IP trace to figure out who is who.
I got no beef with ya and agree I was an idiot.
may I serve as the scapegoat/warning to others that would go off half cocked

And I di make really good home-made cookies.
Chocolate chip (my little secret) and peanut butter ones too.
Mmmm, then there's the peanutbutter-chololate chip ones too.
Oh now I think I'm going to have to bake cookies now.
Come on, leave me out of the trash bin, I've been a good girl.
