View Full Version : Cross between Gold and Blue Gourami ??

October 22nd 06, 03:46 AM
We are new to Gourami's. Our experience started with Ponds and gold
fish. It wasn't until we wanted to have some of our fish inside that we
came accross two tanks, with fish for $25. The fish were so nice that
we decided to keep them. They were mostly Gourami's, one big white, a
blue and a gold. We bought some other Gourami's at the pet store, but
they soon started to fight. We took , what we thought were the trouble
makers, out to the pond. After a month or so, we notice a load of
babies in the pond. We got them all out and had 7 gourami's that were
part blue, and part gold. They have markings of the blue garami, with
some blue at the center, but gold highlights around the edges and fins.
We see them in the tank, next to both gold and blue and they look like
a little of both. Is this common? We had to keep all the pond
gourami's together because they don't fight. The bigger blue gourami's
were most agressive towards them.

The pet store I sold some of my other fish to, wants to see the
Gold/blue Gouramis, said he never saw one like I describe. He told me
to get a picture and put them on the net. Are they really that
uncommon?

Looking forward to the replies.

Not unlikely, the gold gourami is a color form of the blue gourami,
both color forms of the three spot gourami.
