View Full Version : Catfish with sore nose

November 25th 06, 12:27 AM
I am sure I posted this before but I can't see it...

I have a clown syno, she likes to stay vertical while resting during
hours of light.

She tends to stick her nose out, it has got really pink and sore where
it's often out of the water, then it's got red and bloodied in places.

There's enough water for her to be vertical without sticking out, and
I've reset the tank so she has other places to hide, but she likes to
stick her nose out.

It looks really sore!

What can I do?

This sounds more like a symptom than a problem. What are your water
parameter?
Ammonia should be 0
Nitrite should be 0
pH - 7.0 or less
Nitrates -below 40 ppm
kH 60-120 ppm
Temperature for Clown Syndontis Catfish 72-82 F (22-28 C)

Any noticable parasite problems like ich (white spots), as this will
also make fish excibit this behavior?
