View Full Version : Eternal filter question

I've just added (yesterday) an external to my 190L Jewel tanks. the tank
usually has, as well as the standard jewel corner filter, a fluval 4+
filter. At the moment they are all running, inc the external one.
Can I take out the fluval? Is there enough biological filter material in the
jewel one to keep the biological filter going whilst the external gets
established?

I have to admit to not being familiar with the Jewel corner Filter. But
Based what I have seen elsewhere, I would keep your Fluval running.
I am also a strong believer in filter redundancy for better filtration
and in case another filter fails.

I would keep the old filter in for at least two weeks, to ensure that
the new filter has been properly colonized.
