View Full Version : I am now 100% clownfish free
Tristan
January 4th 07, 10:43 PM
I had one that went totally beserk......tore up a nice yellow
toadstool leather, ripped up and shreded over 2 dozen shrooms,
andliterally battered my nice big stand of pulzing zenia to a mushy
pulp. Also went crazy in my basketball size tubipora Musica and I have
hundreds of broken off polyps allover my tanks bottom.
He also liked to wallow around the sand especially around any corals
etc that were growing out of the sand bed itself. I just got tired of
having to always redo the corals and clean off the sand he was always
stirring up.
My other tanks the clows have always battered frogspawn and torch
corals as well as my shrooms but not as bad as the other clown did.
All were common percula clowns. So out they went.....I posted about
them on another web based forum and there were all adopted by a few
folks in the area almost imediately.
The one that always did the most damage and destruction must have just
snapped out. All other fish in the tanks are perfectly normal,
probably more relaxed now since the trouble makers have been removed.

I find it faster and simpler to take some nori, a bit of rice, and make
"nemo rolls". My kids love 'em.

Speaking of which, where can one mail order Nori?
Tristan
January 5th 07, 01:29 AM
Are you not from Georgia? No need to mail order it. Odds are its in
town at the nearest oriental market, or in places like World Bazzar
etc., or possibly in your own grocery store. Here in town they sell 12
sheets of NORI 10 x 12 or so in size for less than a dollar. Same
stuff in 6 sheets of approx 4" x 10 inches in lfs is like $5.99
Its really pretty common and I have seen it in Wally World already in
the oriental food section, as well as in the seafood section.

Or if I was on propper terms with the idiots that posted all that mess
the other day I could probably have borrowed some prozac from
them...but then again they were probably in more need of all the
prozac they could get their hands on.

Already checked, and no luck. I do occasionally get into Jacksonville,
but so far, google has been wrong about oriental food store locations.
I'll call ahead on my next trip.

Hm, oriental food section....maybe. Already checked the meager seafood

NE Florida...I knew that.....you told me before. My mind is slipping I
guess........been a long day!
I wuld have figured most any town no matter hwatb size it is
especially along any coastala area would have at least one oriental
food store.....Heck there must be 30 of them here in landlocked
montgomery area.
Oh..... lots of natural / health food stores also sell Nori, so theres
yet a few more places you can check. YOu can always call a oriental
food place and see where they g et it or maybe even ask if they would
sell you some. I bet most any of them will tell you where they get
it or even sell you some.

That BBQ place sounds like "Jakes" here in town. It utilized one wall
of an existing metal building so the dude only had to build what was
more or less a lean to type building, with no space to set down and
eat.take out only. His wood is strewn around the local ABC stores
parking lot, along with a splitting maul where he leaves it when
finished as wellas a gas powered log splitter which is never copvered
up and always exposed tothe rain. I do not think they floor has ever
been swept or mopped. ON the long wall of his place its a common wall
to a tire dealer......he has a outside brick lined pit with metal roof
.. ONe look at ther place you would back on out theparking lot roof and
go to Hardees.....but if you can get past the looks of the place and
the owner its the best BBQ you could ever ask for.
Its not uncommon to find him sleeping there as he makes BBQ 24/7/365
He also has a good selectio of his secret recipe sauces and some super
french fried potatoe planks with a secret seasoning as well. He does
Carolina type as well as Alabama type BBQ.both are fantastic.

My kind of place...
Just ordered an aqualife pro w/ 2x250Watt 10K MH and 2 x96Watt blue
actinic. It has a 2 1/4" profile, as far as I can tell, the only thing
what will fit in my hood which only allows 4.5". Guaranteed to spin the
meter...

I have a yellow-stripe maroon clownfish and he does something similiar to
your fish. He goes down to the bottom of the tank in the same spot and
'fans' the sand and makes a nice sandstorm that disturbs my clam and
everything else close by. I'm just curious as to why they do this type of
thing. Strange!

Take a look at the headers. If someone is crossposting to ponds, it isn't
Tristan. There are a couple of assholes that have started re-posting anything he
posts with a cross-post to ponds. Take it up with them.

No sense evenkill filtering them to start with as the one that is
doing all this crap shifts nyms faster than yu can make a new kill
filter. Just take any of the messages as such asn send them in to
abuse at appropriate news service. None of what CArol says was cross
posted was cross posted.......This individual person is bent out of
shape because she is going to be locked oiut of the new rec.ponds

trashing and forgeing others headers and stirring up trouble as she is

I am not a guru on headers of these trash posts being made. but I do
think the abuse reports to AIOE.org nailed that SOB the other day and
I do believe if you all send some copys of posts to th4e abuse at
bell south and any other news service yu see in the header you may be
able to nail this sob as well. That is unless its carol usiing her
usenet forging and manipulaiton software called Hipcrime.....but there
should be enoughinfo for any NNTP to come down on this joker as well.
Plain and simple..I do not crosspost.... never did never
will........what happens in rec.ponds should remain in rec.ponds, and
the same for the rel;igious groups, Unfortunately Carol (the one
makaing all these posts) is not content at stirring up groups she
knows other patronize that dissagree with her, she has to go further
and forge posts to make it look like an entire group is making lots of
noise and she is doing nothing wrong. Its not going to be long until
she zeroes in on Wayne or Kurts or any others in this group and gets
them involved as well with forged posts.
Its ironic I get allthis blame and have gotten blamed for years with
this Carol idiot, yet I still have never lost an ISP or news account
so evidently I am not at fault here. ....or guilty of what she posts.
Just because some items show up on the internet on a google search doe
snot mean a darn thing since 99% of everyhting that originated out of
rec.ponds and other forums she patronizes is forged materials to make
others look like they made the problem, and not her.
Regards and now lets return to reefs.

Funny thing that you mentioned the usenet ab(user) tool Hipcrime. I
have a copy of hipcrime for some time now and never installed it as I
liked the way Agent worked. I just may have togo and install that dll
library and hipcrime and see exactly what it can do. I remember
something about yur able to make groups as well as delete groups, but
I may be wrong on that aspect, but I do rememeber its good for
manipulating posts......but back then I had no need, now I have a
mission so perhaps now there is a need......
Thanks for jogging my memory with the name hipcrime. I knew I seen it
somewhere around my software here, and totlaly forgot it.
