The last time I owned an aquarium, filters sat in the corner of the
tank and consisted of some activated carbon chips with some glass wool
on top. I want to get back into aquariums, and I am obviously starting
with the tank. I am considering a 36-gallon curved-front tank
manufactured by All-Glass Aquariums
(http://www.all-glass.com/products/aquariums/index.html). I am looking
for any advice\recommendations on this manufacturer. Do they make a
quality product?

Thanks for any help.

Just my opinion, but Oceanic makes the best tanks. All-Glass aren't bad, and
usually cost less than Oceanic brand.

I've got a 45 gallon and a 20long All glass...

Neither has had any issues...

YMMV

FWIW - Oceanic is a subsidiary of All-Glass.

Odds are, with how name brands and manufacturing are now days, that All-
Glass labeled bow front is an Oceanic assembly.

Ah, so it seems that Oceanic is something like a "premium model" of the
All - Glass brand ?

I wasn't aware that they are part of the same company. Thanks for the info.

The difference I noticed is that the silicone joints on the Oceanic tanks
are more neatly done than the ones labeled as " All-Glass". I've had 6 or 7
Oceanic tanks and about 10 All-Glass. All of them held water fine, but the
Oceanic ones look better if you examine them closely. When I moved and had
to get rid of most of my tanks, I kept three of the Oceanics and sold the
rest.

In my opinion Oceanic tanks are better, but they usually cost more.

FYI... The All-Glass company *makes* Oceanic tanks. = )
Oceanic tanks are the higher end, and any All-Glass tanks are good tanks.
In 26 years, I have had only one problem with them, and it was on a brand new,
specially ordered 75g. The person who built it did it wrong, and let it go
anyway.
When it arrived I called All-Glass told themthe prob and they shipped out a new
one right away, which was perfect.
I just can't figure out why the person who made it didn't scratch that tank and
start over instead of sending it out. Their names are right on the bottom of
the tank!
So when I called All-Glass and was asked who made it, I gave the name and they
were going to be "handled".
Oh...the problem with my 75g was that at the edge, where the rim meets the
glass...there was about a 3/3-1" gap between it and the glass on one side. = (

Yes, that's exactly right.
All-Glass didn't always make Oceanic tanks. They bought them out years back.
I worried that the quality would go down, but it hasn't seemed to.
Ya just don't see them in the shops as much though.

**Correction**
That was supposed to be 3/4"-1".

I've had an All Glass 38 allon tank for 15 years and I'm very pleased with
it.
I have resealed once due to leaking and recently again because the top
frame of plastic around the tank broke and while replacing it I resealed the
whole tank.
As a side note All Glass Aquarium has excellent customer service and very
reasonable prices on parts (my new top frame including shipping was less
than $15.00.

have fun with the new tank!\
