Sea Urchins-------Breakfast food--RAW

Don't know if any of you watch Top Chef show, but there was two
competetors in Hawaii prowling the beaches and jetties, and one of
them gathered up some sea urchins, pulled out the spines, cracked its
top shell like an egg, and started to spoon out its innerds and eat
them raw........said it was delisious.....Later on the same
individual served prepared urchins as a main course item in a meal he
made for a bunch of folks....Evidently Urchin is a big food item in
Hawaii

No way I could do that to "Spike" my little pin cushion urchin - he is
quite a pet.....I have seen urchin shells on sale though.....and then
just look at the shrimps/prawns/scampi or indeed any other fish....

That being said I have no issue with eating any number of shellfish and
even that great french delicacy the "escargot"....but I won't eat my pet...
