View Full Version : Do I need to supplement my Aqua-Glo ?

Hi everyone,

Thanks to all for great advice over the last few weeks. Much appreciated. In
the end the tank doesn't show the marks on the tank when wet, and I got an
Eheim Ecco 2231 to suit the tank. :)

I am looking at my Aqua-Glo tube (Hagen) that the LFS recommended me, it is
a pinky-ish light, and putting that over the current tank setup (still
getting ready to cycle the new tank soon) it seems quite dark compared to
what the fish are used to. They don't seem as acive as they are with the
other 8000k light in the tank.

Should I supplement this Aqua-Glo with a small CF? Or will they get used to
it? I am building the aquarium hood for the tank at present, and if I can
get some advice then maybe I have to change the hood before putting it on.
So far this is for a 2 foot tank, 67 Litres of water, the tube is a 2'
tube...

The tank I intend doing up with quite a few plants, and eventually probably
a good school of around 2 dozen neon tetras, 2 Otocinclus, 1 SAE. I am also
debating on a small shrimp, but worried that would annoy the Ottos.
