Can anyone help me keep my mystery snails alive...

I have a big Mummy/Daddy Mystery snail and about 30-40 little snails in a
small 1½ foot hex tank...
There is nothing wrong with them at the moment, but I think they will become
crowded soon...

There is now no fish in the tank but I need to wait a bit longer before
giving them to the people that want them.
Should I be feeding them anything? I will keep doing water changes and am
filtering the water with a simple corner/wool filter... But should I being
doing any more?

TIA

Bill

There are many types of 'mystery' snails. This site
http://www.applesnail.net/ has tons of information. Essentially, you
should be throwing in small amounts of different foods to see which are
readily eaten. This includes algae wafers, bottom-feeder pellets even
flake food. There are many foods in your kitchen as well, such as
lettuce, zuchini, cucumber, brussel sprouts etc. Take a small sample,
(you might blanch or microwave it to get it soft enough) and experiment
to see what they like. Attach them to a rock or a weight to bring it
down to the snails. Have fun.

High calcium food is good. wafers, veggies like spinach leafs, Green
leafy veggies. The babies need to grow a strong shell and for the
parents to keep thier shell in good shape. some people from
www.applesnail.net uses Kent's Marine liquid calcium in half dose to
help thier snails shell stay healthy. I have not tried this yet. I use
repti-cal reptile calcium powder, crushed egg shells <microwaved to
prevent illiness> cuttle bone. I have hundreds of babies.
