Can I ask why you added chemicals to an otherwise healthy aquarium?
This is a good example of why I try to talk people out of using
chemicals or medication if there are any other options available.

Wow, aren't we testy. I wasn't insulting you, though with the
attitude you're displaying I doubt you believe me.

I tried it when it was new out (and came free with Aquasafe).

I didn't notice any benefit - or any harm.

If you are using it to reduce water changes, can I suggest that instead
you add carbon to your filter to remove nasties and dissolved organic
compounds, keep live plants to take out nitrate, and feed only the
minimum so there is no wastage rotting on the bottom of the tank, or
get a bottom feeder or three, like cory cats or yoyo loaches. Keep the
filter running well. I have additional aeration too. Using this
method, I make water changes about once a month at about 10-15%
as well as topping up with fresh water regularly. You do also need
to watch for "old tank syndrome" i.e. pH levels dropping over time,
which only water changes can address effectively - if you suffer pH
drops, step the water changes back up a bit.

I'm not saying my way is ideal but that it works for me.

I would address the reason you used easy balance, and use a
non-chemical alternative. As I said, I've not had a problem with
it, but I wouldn't actually buy and use it either.
