View Full Version : Water Lettuce - new growth

Reel McKoi
March 8th 07, 09:17 PM
The water lettuce that spent the winter in the greenhouse is putting on new
growth. In another month they'll go outside in the ponds and barrels. Those
that spent the winter in the fishtanks in the sunroom are also increasing in
size. Duck week stayed alive and green all winter indoors. The fancy
goldfish love it.

"Tynker"???? Goddamn you really are an ass Carol. And all this time I
thought Tristin was exaggerating about you but apparently not.

You have proved him right about you.

Now go back to whatever slime encrusted rock bottom you crawled out from and
try to climb up a few more rungs on the evolution ladder, to least the point
where you have a chance to compete effectively with pond scum. Until then,
try to work on differentiating between your anus and your mouth, apparently
you are having quite a bit of difficulty in doing so. Once you have
accomplished that you might be able to pull your head out of your asshole at
least half-way.

This is what I posted. You can't even tell one poster from another but
immediately have to go on the attack. What a horrible thing I did by
posting ON-TOPIC about water lettuce. Give it up Don I was already warned
what you guys were pulling here.

If you get off on using profanity and personal attacks, and Tristan's
constant attacks on people, (see the reef group) then perhaps you should
seek help also.

Same old trolling, huh cat daddy? You helped them destroy rec.ponds and
now here you are to help them destroy this group. Do you ever post anything
on-topic in any of these groups? In the two years since rec.ponds was

No, you're wrong again, Carol. The respectable people frequenting
rec.ponds provided a wonderful respite, with great friendships and sharing
their creations. I enjoyed reading their posts over the years. Then,
inexplicably at first, you lashed out at Dr. Solo and others over apparent
slights from the past and you started playing your JW games there with socks
and remailers. Then, your past of religious bigotry caught up with you.
I can't blame anyone for being sick of you.

It goes like this:

TYNK is stalking a little ole granny in Tn. She then calls the sheriff
dept and files a false police report, suggesting you are going to:

Slit her throat
suffocate her with a plastic bag
Poison her fish with cat food.

The water lettuce, I can understand preserving over the winter months in
some parts of the world, but not the duck weed! Do you really find it an
addition to your goldfishes diet? Where I live (gods own county) it is a
real problem controlling the growth of duck weed, even in tanks. At what
point do you experience the last frosts in your part of the world? Do any
other floating plants survive the winter outdoors?

Yes, they really love it. It's hardy here in TN so comes back each spring.
They get it as a treat once a week.

Where I live (gods own county) it is a
> real problem controlling the growth of duck weed, even in tanks.

True, unless the fish eat it all, as the goldies do.

At what

Around April 15th to the 20th.

Do any
> other floating plants survive the winter outdoors?

There are only two tropicals that I've tried. Water lettuce does fine (if
kept in a fishtank) but Water Hyacinths usually don't (too tall so they go
in a south window) make it. Now with the greenhouse I may try and keep a
few over next winter.

Are you known as "TWO-STANDARD-TYNK?" LOL!!! Did you tell your foul
mouth friend that when he changes nyms? If not, why not? I notice you
pretend not to see your friend's nym shifting. Why is that Tynk? Are you
afraid of him? Do you have different standards for different people?
Maybe you need to give it a rest since you're doing more to keep these group
in turmoil to get recruits for your Google aquarium fish group then anyone
else. Why not be honest and just invite new people there instead of
constantly disrupting these groups with your mindless harassment? Learn to
use a killfile.

> You're not fooling anyone Carol.

Neither are you. You're clogging up every group with you off-topic
harassment in order to get new members for your private elite hand-picked
little Google group. Then you feel you should also run the Usenet groups as
well. You're out of luck sweetie. These are public groups so you're not the
Queen bee here. You have no more say who does what here than I do.

> Why bother?

Why do you bother bothering people who disagree with you?

> Once again, you're clogging up every group.

So are you. Pot calling kettle black again?

Then stop doing it. Most of your posts are off-topic harassment posts.

I know this will sound a little strange, but all I have kept over the last
25 years is Marines. This year I thought a plants only freshwater tank would
be interesting, especially with all the CO2 progress that has been made. If
my plant questions come across as 'strange' over the next few months please
forgive me, I'm used to dealing with macro algae's.

When you've been on Usenet as long as I have, few things come across as
strange. ;-) There is a "plant man" on the "rec.aquaria.freshwater.plants"
group who is quite knowledgeable about fresh water aquarium plants. I'm
sure he can give you some good advice.

I just love this post! Don't you Tynk?

Like anyone is gonna listen to what anyone on the USENET says or
states........perhaps if that person was to pay the other persons ISP
/ NNTP bill then perhaps, but other than that, nope nada no way! Nice
try though Tynk!
