Second batch, nearly a dozen.. They'd not been eating well, not sure why....
Last night when I went to feed them, I saw sevearal white bodies, floating
and some on the bottom... but a few were swimming... :-(

I picked up a body and examined it with a magnifying glass, and just beneath
it's gills, was a hole, rimmed in black, ate up in a way, but not possible..
unless it was a MTS, cuz that's all that was in with them...

9 of 12 were dead then, the other 3 weren't far behind.... Not entirely
sure what it was....

btw, it's 929am

Red it almost sounds as if you have some kind of worm or bug in the tank
capable of attacking the fry. I just got rid of the last of my Kribs from a
spawning about 4 months ago. I had about 150 of them. I now have another
spawn swimming around the tank and it appears to be about the same number so
if you are only getting a dozen there is something wrong in the tank. On my
first spawn the male started to eat the fry so I removed him. I have a
different male this time and the female has him isolated under a piece of
driftwood. Poor guy has trouble even coming out for some flake food before
he is chased back.

that's what I was thinking... I'm going to tear the tank down for
maintenance anyway, and a sterile cleaning will be done....

just sucked...

Just curiourios. How do you do that aside from taking the tank outside
and cleaning it with water and bleach and then a very complete hosing.
Same thing for the gravel, filters, pumps, piping etc. and artificial
plants. Anything living gets thrown out.

the filters will be kept, but cleaned in non chlorinated water, room temp,
etc.... the gravel will get a good washing, but not bleached... actually no
bleaching at all, I may have mis-stated that earlier...
