The females will typically store enough sperm to produce fry for between
2 and 4 months (for their monthly deliveries). Maybe you can go after
the LFS for fry-support ;~) *just kidding*

They will eventually stop. Like guppies. they get a good load of
sperm, and store it up for a while, then give birth to several broods.

My wife put one of her guppy females in my non-guppy tank so she could
have a break... That was two weeks ago, and she is still large, and
just gave birth to what I am hoping was her last......

I think this fin (the gonopodium) is used in the act, but I wouldn't
doubt the fertility (and enthusiasm) of a young male could get the job
done before the fin was fully developed.
