View Full Version : Raised Pond Wall
I am going to build a slight raised pond, about6 12 in above the
ground. I would like decorative walling and would like to know if I
should make the "wall" double skinned, with concrete block on the
inside?.
Also what size of foundation is required for this wall?
Lawrence,
If you're only going to go no more than a foot above ground level with your
wall then you can probably get by using 4" or 6" dry stack block like you
can get at Lowe's or Home Depot. You'd want to burying your first course
below the frost line depending upon where you live will determine how deep
you have to lay it. The dry stack block can be used if your pond is going to
have curves, where the rectangular block will not. Have you given any
thought about how/what you're going to cap your wall with?
Good luck.
