Hi.

The subject of avoiding the use of softened water in aquaria comes up a
lot. However, I was just reading some webpages on water softeners, and
they claim that you can use potassium chloride in a water softener, so
that potassium will be exchanged for the calcium & magnesium instead of
sodium.

Can someone who knows more chemistry enlighten me -- would softened water
containing potassium be ok to use in an aquarium?

Thanks!
