Hi All. Beginner's question time.

Does anyone envisage problems with keeping Corys, Neon Tetras and Balloon
Mollies in the same tank, long term?

Behaviourally, they seem to be getting along just fine with each other right
now; I'm more worried about the kind of water I should be using. It's
recently been mentioned here that Mollies like salt; the Molly is the new
addition to the tank, which was keeping the Corys and the Tetras happy with
no salt at all. pH is on the slightly lower side of neutral.

Anything I should particularly worry about?

Thanks,

Matt

It's been my experience that many Mollies get sickly after a while in
freshwater. Some adapt well, some born into it do perfectly well and
Balloon Mollies don't seem to suffer from zero salt as much as some of
the other larger Mollies (that last point might be my imagination, based
on having about 120 Balloon Mollies over the last 1-1/2 yrs). I've no
idea why though, just seems that way.

Thanks for that. In the light of your experience, I think I shall avoid doing
anything pre-emptive, but just keep an eye on my little Balloon, who seems to
be very perky so far. Any problems, and I may just take that as a hint that
I should get that second tank I've been thinking about anyway...

Cheers,

Matt
