I don't really need advice this time, but I thought I should share my latest
fish problem.

My cats usually hang out next to the fish tanks, watching the fish. Once in
awhile they even jump on top the tanks and drink out of them.

A few days ago I found my 10 inch Oscar dead on the floor. I wondered why ,
the water conditions were fine, and he was by far the largest fish in the
tank.

Then I noticed a clump of gray cat hair in his mouth !!!
Needless to say, the gray cat doesn't go anywhere near the fish anymore.

The mental image I got from this one made me laugh out loud :D - but still,
maybe you should consider some kind of cover on your tank... I'm not so sure
I'd let my cats drink water from the tanks :)

Too funny, poor kitty is probably scarred for life now. You'll have
to take him to therapy. I had a customer a few years ago who's cat
got pulled into the tank by a 16-inch oscar.... he told me that the
(thoroughly soaked) cat yelped and bolted across the house, seemingly
without touching the floor. He too never went within 10 feet of that
tank afterwards.

I guess I'm lucky that my cats don't really pay too much attention to my fish tanks!
