this says they are "Quite peaceful towards non-agressive fish of a similar
size, though still slightly territorial."
but read the whole profile

In my experience, large blue acaras will happily make a meal of any fish
small enough to be swallowed. (Mine used to eagerly go after the "rosy
red" minnows I used to feed as feeder fish). This would include most of
the smaller danios and tetras (the blue acara's mouth is larger than it
looks). So your proposed mix might work when the acaras are small, but
not when they get larger. I think keyhole cichlids would be a better,
and somewhat similar, alternative.

And when it comes to breeding, you'll have a hard time keeping them from
spawning all over the place! But as the previous poster said, if they can
fit a fish in their mouths, they'll eat them. Nice fish though... Great
colors..

Linzi,
Go to www.petsolutions.com and get the "liquid food". It is designed
for fry, and worked well with my guppies......definitly worth a try.
