Jack looks fuzzy?

can anyone tell me why sometimes my jack dempsey looks kind of pale and
fuzzy?

Jacks change their colors to a very pale, to a dark green and blue, and even
black... it's either a mood indicator or a reaction to something going on in
the tank.....
