I bought a Aqua-Tech 30-60 Filter from Wallmart. I heard that it
is very similar to the penguin 300 filter, But it does not have the
Bio-wheels ! I have heard that you can buy a retro kit with the
Bio-wheels for my Aqua-Tech 30-60 . But I cant seem to find them! Anyone
know where I can get this Kit ? any online source. Thanks in advance for
any help you can give!
Thanks;

you can buy the spare biowheels anywhere, but they do not come with the
little bracket that the axles of the wheel sit on. You may have to fabricate
something to hold it.

The Aqua-Tech 30-60 isn't just "very similar" to the Penguin 300, it
_IS_ the Penguin 300. You can get the BioWheels (including supports
and brackets) off the shelf down at PetSmart, but you'll probably need
to go online to get a new cover. (The Aqua-Tech cover won't accomodate
the wheels). Both units are manufactured by Aquaria inc. (which also
makes Magnum and a couple other high-zoot brands) so they should be
eezy to find on the 'net --

Oh, BTW, the Penguin also comes with a couple of baskets that fit into
the body of the filter that you can put charcoal or ammo-chips or
whatever. The Aqua-Tech has the slots that the baskets fit in, but no
baskets.

Good idea -- something so obvious that I had never thought of it. --Mark
