Can anyone help me with the current status of fish from the old genus
Tilapia? I believe that substrate spawners were retained in Tilapia, and
mouthbrooders were moved to Oreochromis and Sarotherodon. Is the former
T.mossambicus now in Sarotherodon or Oreochromis? What is the distinction
between the two genera?
TIA,
Paul

Hi Paul!

The current name is Sarotherodon mossambicus. I'm not sure about the
difference between the genus Sarotherodon and Oreochromis, but I'll
see if I can find that out for you.

Greetings,

Dylan
