I have two common goldfish for more than 4 years. Please check the
following links and help me identify what's wrong with them:
1) One of them has nubs on tail: http://img373.imageshack.us/my.php?image=tailtb4.jpg
2) The same one has patches on both sides:
http://img229.imageshack.us/my.php?image=patchandspotmt0.jpg It's hard
to see it at the picture, but the skin color is different. Skin is
lighter outside but it's bloody red under the skin.
At the same picture, you can see red (bloody) spot at second goldfish.

They are happy and don't behave like sick. Six months ago, one of them
changed color (become white), and the second one also lost color near
the tail, and at the bottom.

Please help, any advise is welcome. Thank you!

because they arent acting sick, DONT USE HARSH MEDICATIONS. clean up the water
starting by looking at your nitrate level, get a new kit. do 50% water changes for
the next 4 days and add 1 teaspoon of solar type salt (rock salt, no additives) per 5
gallons of tank water or replaced water.

it might be an internal infection, the second photo looks like a thickened slime
coat.

you CAN get and feed antibiotic food without toxing the fish ...
http://www.goldfishconnection.com/shop/listing.php?parentId=5 has different ones. I
havent used these, but other people on the Puregold list have.

Thank you very much for answers. I'm cleaning the tank as advised. My
Goldies are still happy, but affected areas of skin are bigger. Here
are better images:

A guy from local Pet Store advised me to use Fungus Clear (http://
www.junglelabs.com/pages/details.asp?item=TB630) to treat water in
tank. Re antibiotic food, I'm in Canada and can't order from
www.goldfishconnection.com, my ZIP is not valid :-)
