Is there a cichlid commonly known as "Red Jewel"? If yes, what is its
taxonomic name
and where is its wild habitat?

If you are talking Of the Blood Red Jewel Then its name is Hemichromis
Lifalili (sp?).
A truly spectacular fish, I have a breeding pair, easy to take care of and
spawn at least once every 2 months. Do a search on google. There is another
less red jewel known as Hemichromis bimaculatus (sp?)
