Just wanted to introduce myself.
I am a fishlover. currently with only one tank and two more in the works. I
have been lurking for a while and really enjoy the NG. Is anyone here from
Illinois, USA. I recently moved to IL and am looking for reliable sources
for the above projects.
Also any suggestions for a 29g community with Kribensis and gouramis as the
main inhabitants? It will be a planted tank. Suggestions for both
tankmates and plants are welcome.
Thanks
Pete

Welcome to the group! Vicki here in good Ol' Virginia. Kribs and
gouramis make great tank mates so when you are ready just let us know
and we will be very happy to help you out.

Hello Pete and Everyone else,
I too am new to this NG and also from IL (Rockford). I'm off to check
out those links.
BTW does anyone have any ideas why my male electric yellow all of a
sudden turned brown and basically started to die. I flushed him about
an hour ago (my first dead cichlid :( ). He was swimming in that
upside down mode that just screams flush me.

Poot,
You may get more responses with a new thread. We'll need to know more about
your tank setup to answer you question. How long has the tank been up and
running, what size, what else is in the tank and what is the pH, hardness,
ammonia levels, nitrite levels and nitrate levels. How often do you do water
changes and how much? When you do maintenance, do you break down the entire tank
and clean all the filters. All these things will help us answer your question
and hopefully prevent further deaths in your tank.
