View Full Version : Dead Newsgroups?

A year ago when I checked last these rec.aquaria.* newsgroups were alive and
thriving with several dozen informative postings every day.
However for the last month or so there were maybe half a dozen postings
total. What happened? Was there a major reorg that my ISP didn't implement?

We had some people with a vendetta posting junk that made reading the
groups a really unpleasant experience. Everyone left.

New people would join if there were enough posts here to interest them - no?

Hm.., there are more than four infected (er affected) groups..

Well an exodus but a lot of fishy folks changed to TFA - The Freshwater
Aquarium, a Google group on internet. On the one hand spam-free threads,
nice people, active discussions but on the other hand a very poor G2 user
interface..

BTW: Look rpm (rec.ponds.moderated) is doing well..
