are cichlids and shoudl be fine, then i heard not. who do i trust and who is
right? anyone who has some constructive criticism, could you please help.

Angels are from South America, soft water, slightly acid.
Angels are also slow moving - almost lethargic fish.
Malawis are from Africa, hard water, very alkaline.
Most Malawis are fast moving, constantly nipping, hyperactive fish

If one is happy, the other wont be. Or you can keep both
half miserable.

No, you've picked two quite incompatible species to mix.

Stay with one or the other, there's plenty of color varieties in either.

IMHO the malawis will most likely shred the angel's fins into nubs.
Also, the water requirements for malawis (hard, alkaline) is completely
different from the angel's (soft, acidic).

Are Electric Yellows from Lake Malawi?

If so, then you can do it if you raise them all together from bubs.
